Meet Amanda and Joey

I photographed Amanda and Joey's engagement portraits yesterday afternoon.

We went to downtown Birmingham on Morris Ave. These two are so cute together! Joey was a great sport even though it was obvious he would rather be somewhere else doing something else.

I can't wait to photograph their wedding in August.

It's a Dave Day!

It's here! The new Dave Matthews Band CD is here!

I just got my box with the new CD, a really cute water bottle and T-Shirt. Oh Boy!

Why is this show so special, you ask? I'm glad you asked, this is the last show LeRoi played with the band before he died last year. So, all the proceeds for this CD is going to LeRoi's favorite charity - "Boys and Girls Club of Charlottesville, Virginia.

God Bless, we miss you LeRoi!

Indy Cars

Yesterday, I was invited to Barber Motorsport Park to photograph the Indy Cars testing.

These cars are so cool!

Facebook

I finally gave in. Look me up on Facebook!

Where's Barry

I know, this is tough to figure out where I've been the last week.

Welcome to Orlando! Julie and I went down there to visit Aron at school. You have to admit, it was pretty sweet of him to pick a wonderful place like Orlando to study.

It was kinda weird. Aron was playing tourist guide, he took us here, he took us there and pretty much never got near any of the Disney properties. Everyone thinks that Orlando is centered around the Mouse. Nope! Orlando is a big city with lots of neighborhoods and a huge downtown.

Our favorite destination was Winter Park. Think of it as the Beverly Hills of Orlando. We were there while the 50th Winter Park Arts Festival was starting.

Aaron's Bar Mitzvah

I just got finished photographing Aaron's Bar Mitzvah at Temple Emanu-El.

This was my third Bar/Bat Mitzvah for this family. Aaron's Parshat (Torah Portion) was great and his speech was pretty funny.

It's Purim

Yes, the guy reading the Megilliah is in drag. It's Purim!

Every year Jews all over the world read the story of Queen Esther from the Megilliah on Purim. Everyone gets into costume and the adults get really really happy and we read the story of Queen Esther.

Folks from New Orleans should recognize a lot of Mardi Gras in Purim. There's costume contests, parades and of course the reading from the Megilliah. The Megilliah is the story of Queen Esther in hebrew.

Temple Emanu-El Food Fair

Today, I photographed Temple Emanu-El's annual food fair for the Deep South Jewish Voice.

Hundreds and hundreds of people came and enjoyed authentic Jewish deli food. Rabbi Miller, Rabbi Hausman-Weiss and Cantor Roskin gave tours of the Temple and many non-jewish folks learned about Judaism today.

Melissa Springer's "The Sentinels"

This afternoon Gretchen and I went to see Melissa Springer's new show, "The Sentinels" at the Maralyn Wilson Gallery here in Birmingham.

If you get a chance to check out her work, do so. Melissa is well known for her powerful big black & white work. This show ends March 20th.

Meet Dana

I just finished up Dana's engagement portrait.

Dana and her Mom came in today. We got a chance to chat about the wedding, about life and just stuff.

I'm looking forward to her wedding in September.

Meet Laurie

Yesterday afternoon, I photographed Laurie for her engagement announcement in the newspapers.

It was soo cold! Remember that I get to wear my nice warm jacket. Laurie was a trooper, she was a great subject, a little cold but kept on going.

I can't wait for her wedding in May.

Snow Snow Go Away!

I was supposed to report on the bridal show down in Prattville, Alabama today. Check out the above photo of what I woke up to this morning.

Oh well, such is life.
