It's finally Baseball Season

It's Baseball Season!

My beloved Los Angeles Dodgers have started the season at home. As I type this it's the 7th inning and we're leading 5-0 against the Giants. Brad Penny was the starting pitcher and Jeff Kent started the season with a two-run homer in the first inning.

I love Baseball !!!!!!!!!!!

Edit - We Won, we won!!!!!!!!!!! Final score is Dodgers 5-0

Emily and Sammy's Wedding

Saturday night I photographed Emily and Sammy's Wedding at Temple Emanu-El, Birmingham.

What a party! What a couple! Emily is so sweet and Sammy is so cool. I've known Sammy and his parents for a good 14 years. I photographed his Bar Mitzvah and his sister's Bat Mitzvah.

Everything was at Temple Emanu-El. There was a custom Chupah courtesy of Emily's Mom and Roz (Creative Cusine) did dinner and The Accent Band kept the place rocking.

The Merry Widow Opera

Last night I photographed the University of Alabama Opera's Merry Widow.

You saw that correctly, Alabama has an Opera company and they're so good. It's really cool when I get to work for such nice people.

I'm teaching another Photo class

Yesterday my Digital Photography Class started at the Levite Jewish Community Center.

I've got 7 wonderful students. This class has become quite popular. Folks want to get the most out of their little point and shoot cameras. I'm having a great time teaching. Next week I'll take a class portrait.

Where's Barry?

Sorry about not checking in this week, but I've been a busy boy and my internet connection sucked. I've been to Paris, Rome, Venice and Las Vegas. The best part was not having to leave Las Vegas.

This week was my annual photographer's convention. I spent the week learning from the best in our industry and playing with the latest and greatest at the tradeshow.

Alex's Bar Mitzvah

Saturday, we photographed Alex's Bar Mitzvah at Temple Emanu-El.

Alex was great, his torah portion was great, his blessings were great and his grandfather did something really really cool. He read the first torah portion.

Anyway, lunch and dinner were wonderful (Creative Cusine) and the decorations were outrageous (Avid Companies). We partied at Ted's Garage and everything went great.

It was nice to see everything go off without a hitch. Alan and Rachel deserved it, they're such nice folks.

Dave Matthews Band Summer Tour Announced

All right all you Dave freaks it's Summer Tour time.

They're playing in some huge venues this year (Toyota stadium in Chicago, Busch Stadium in St. Louis for example). They're going to a bunch of new cities and venues also like Memphis, TN and Berkley California.

I hope I can go to some of these cool dates. But, even if I can't go to too many shows this tour you know that the tapers will get the shows and hopefully we'll get some great CD's from the boys.

Welcome Milan into the World

One month ago Milan came into Jana and Mukul's world.

I photographed their Mommy and Me portraits yesterday afternoon. You might remember Jana from their September 2006 Wedding. I just love it when I photograph the wedding and a year or so later we do Mommy and Me portraits.

Milan is one cute little dude.

Sara the Party

OK, Sara's Bat Mitzvah part two - The Party

There was dancing, there was music, there was food, there was family (lots of family) and the kids were in a party mood.

Sarah and her friends had a great time and that's all that matters.

Sara's Bat Mitzvah

Yesterday I photographed Sara's Bat Mitzvah at Temple Emanu-El.

Sara was so good - her torah portion was great, her blessings were great and of course she makes for great photos. While doing her photography I found myself tutoring her on what I'm doing. You see, Sara is one of my photography students in the TEENS program.

Her party was at the Botanical Gardens, the music from JAMM Entertainment and the fancy lighting was from Aron. Yes, my son Aron was hired to light the place up.

Photos of the party to come. I'm tired, back to bed.
