Meet Laura

Meet Laura.

Yesterday, I photographed Laura's Bridal Portraits in the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. I can't show you the whole dress because Todd isn't allowed to see yet.

Laura is so pretty and so nice! Her folks and maid of honor came along and we had a really great time. Laura let me drag her to this garden and that garden and then the great lawn in the 90 degree heat.

I can't wait for Laura and Todd's wedding in August.

New Orleans Treat

Aron came to visit me while I was in New Orleans. How cool is that?

He's working at Henry S Jacobs Camp this summer as the Mountain Bike Counselor and he got a day off. It was really cool to spend time with him. Granted most of the time he was sleeping and enjoying the hotel's air conditioning.

I feel like one of those Mastercard commercials -
Plane ticket, hotel bill, dinner = xxx dollars
A few hours with your son = priceless

Where's Barry

I'm in New Orleans for meetings today and tomorrow.

I love this place. It's filthy and a lot of the city hasn't come back yet, but there's something about this place that's so relaxing. Hopefully I'll get to play tomorrow after my morning business.

Meet Liz and Darry-al

Meet Liz and Darry-al.

They are so cute. I can't wait to photograph their wedding this October. They make each other laugh and just have a good time together.

Washington Nationals Baseball

Yesterday, I went to the Washington Nationals vs San Francisco Giants game in the brand new Nationals Park.

Those of you who know me pretty well know my love of the game of baseball. I'd rather be watching my beloved Los Angeles Dodgers play, but down here in Birmingham it's tough to see them play. I love watching the pros play the game. On my way home from Lauren and Eric's wedding I stopped off in Washington D.C. to catch the Nationals play and visit with Becky and Liz. I'm photographing Liz's Bat Mitzvah in April.

I was invited to watch the game with Becky, Liz and they're friend Lisa. They scored some choice corporate box seats and the air conditioning came in handy. This morning I was on the road again and went through Maryland, Virginia and Tennessee. Some of the scenery was down right boring, but I got to catch one heck of a sunset on the way into Chattanooga.

Lauren and Eric

Here's Lauren and Eric.

Their wedding was beautiful. It was outside in the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. First, the ceremony outside in the garden with thunder booming, then cocktails and dinner inside the atrium.

Lauren and Eric are a wonderful couple, I'm so glad I came up to New York for their wedding.

New York City Day 3

My feet are killing me at this point! I walked and walked and ... (you get the idea). One more business meeting and then on to more adventures. i visited ground zero and there's this weird silence hanging around the site. Everyone just hushes when looking at the big hole which is quickly turning into the construction site of the new towers set to open in 2012.

I went to Little Italy and had lunch. What a wonderful street. You can almost forget your in this huge city for a little while. Then I finally found the Brooklyn Bridge. I've now seen it from both sides and it was worth the aching feet, it's so cool!

New York City Day 2

Yesterday was quite the adventure.

After a meeting in the morning, I continued the adventure. I took the subway to Times Square which is always an entertaining place, then I went back to the Empire State Building (cool place), then I walked over to the Stage Deli for lunch. Wonderful meal but my goodness it was expensive. I walked down 7th Avenue and checked out Rockafeller Center and all the theaters. Then I took the subway to the lower east side to find the pickle guys that I read about online, not impressed. OK, on to Chinatown and Little Italy, really cool. Then I trotted down to the Hudson River where I found not only the Manhattan Bridge but also the Brooklyn Bridge. I found a pub at Pier 17 and over a cold one enjoyed the view of Brooklyn and the water. About this time my aunt called in the mood for chinese food in Brooklyn (my Aunt Mary lives in Manhattan). I took my trusty subway over there for dinner.

All in all a very full day of adventures. Today, I walk the mighty Brooklyn Bridge.

New York City

Welcome to New York City! I'm up here on business and I decided to go on adventures yesterday before I had to work. This is an amazing place and the subway system is so much fun!

All I can say is there's no place like home! There's so much to see, so much to do and of course so much to eat here, it's a great place to visit and play in but I'll take little boring Birmingham, thank you.

Meet Angela and Chris

Yesterday I photographed Angela and Chris' engagement portrait.

These two were the best sports, they let me drag them all over downtown Birmingham. Poor Angela had to put up with killer gnats and mosquitos so I could get the shot. I think Chris is still shaking his head wondering what the hell was going on.

Angela is the daughter of the one and only "Chef Bob" and Chris is the Sous Chef at Cafe Dupont. We're going to eat really well at the wedding in September!
