Miller and Josh are Married

Yesterday, I photographed Miller and Josh's wedding at the Cathedral Church of the Advent and then we partied all night at the Mountain Brook Country Club.

What a couple! What a party!

I met Miller because she was the Maid of Honor at Katie and Lewis' Wedding in May. These folks are so cool! Miller's dress was gorgeous. I saw a bunch of my brides at the wedding (I love it). Ryan Morrison was the bagpiper, the band was Big Swing and the Ballroom Blasters, the bridesmaids awesome dresses from Bella Bridesmaids and Carole Crabbe coordinated.

The Bakery at Culinard

Yesterday, I photographed "The Bakery at Culinard." They just opened in Innovation Depot in downtown Birmingham. I like doing corporate work, it keeps my lighting skills sharp.

An Interesting Day in the Altmark Home

The phone rings, it's from Jacobs Camp, Mississippi. Not good. Aron is the bicycle specialist at camp this summer. It's JC (camp director), really bad news!

Aron went over the handle bars head first and is on the way to the Emergency Room in Jackson, not good. It seems he was carrying something for a camper(s) and it got stuck in the spokes and over he went. His head hit so hard that his helmet (yes, he always wears his safety gear) cracked in three places. That's a hard hit! How and nobody seems to understand how, he got up and walked himself to the infirmary and promptly fainted.

Cancel all appointments and re-arrange my schedule and off to Utica, Mississippi we go. By the way I just want to take this opportunity to shout out to my clients! You are so understanding and supportive!

We get to camp (first image) and then we march into the infirmary and are greeted by the second image. Pretty huh? It's now 10am and we have to have Aron back in Birmingham to see the dentist by 2:30pm. It's a five hour trip (do the math). We rush on back to Birmingham and he's still too swollen for Dr. Weiss to do anything! Mumble grumble mumble. Meanwhile, I have to work at 5pm. I get to the job and explain my day (I have the greatest clients in the world) and we do the gig uneventfully - Thank G-D!

What a day

Dave Matthews Band in Charlotte

Julie and I are in Charlotte for the Dave Matthews Band concert.

The boys were so good tonight! Dave talked about LeRoi four separate times tonight. The lights and video were outrageous and Tim Reynolds guitar solos were awesome.

I think tonight's theme was "A Get Well Card to LeRoi." Dave even had us all scream and yell to LeRoi to get better in a digital card. Dave also asked us to sing the harmony on "Everyday" and the first two chorus on "Jimi thing." The show was fantastic!

Alabama Schools of Fine Arts (ASFA) Fundraiser

Sunday night I photographed the ASFA Visual Arts Department fundraiser at Sloss Furnace.

The highlight of the evening was the cutting off of Darius Hill's dreadlocks. Darius is the head of the visual arts department and mentioned to one of the school administrators that he was thinking of cutting off his dreads. The school asked him to make a fundraiser out of this idea.

LeRoi Moore is Hurt

To a lot of y'all this isn't a big deal, but to the Dave Heads out there this is big time. LeRoi is the saxophone player for the
Dave Matthews Band. He was seriously hurt while playing on his ATV monday. He's lying in the hospital while DMB keeps the tour going. Julie and I went to the concert tonight (more on the concert later) and the band had to ask the sax player Jeff Coffin to sit in while LeRoi recovers.

Happy thoughts for LeRoi would be really really cool.
